The adventure awaits… Boss’ GPS was acting up again, so nearly 8km’s later we’ve arrived at The French Bakery for brunch!! After a lovely breakfast of French crépes with fruit, cream cheese, and other delectables (not sure about Bossette’s choice of salmon, spinach & asparagus?) we headed home and arrived hot and humid having completed… Read More 21 August – Hilton Head
Bossette was so disappointed at my posted Google picture of the Angel Oak tree in Charleston that I decided to rather post one I took myself…
We spent some time in the afternoon exploring Hilton Head beach and the surrounding shops, after which we had probably the best fish and chips ever at The Sea Shack.
Off to our last stop before heading down to Marco Island, we headed south out of Charleston just before 10. After having rain for most of the night the humidity was very present at an estimated 32C. On the way we stopped off at a roadside shop where we got some pie and cider. … Read More 20 August – Hilton Head Island
This going to be a busy day! Starting off with a real American breakfast at the Waffle House.. After that it was a short trip to go and see the Angel Oak tree, estimated at approximately 300 years old! and then it was off to the Charleston Tea Plantation… After some delicious iced teas (peach… Read More 19 August – Charleston
The odometer reads 5511 miles as we pack the RV for the next leg to Charleston. On route into South Carolina we stopped just past exit 90 at a rest stop so Boss could zoom off to a meeting. On his way Waldo, Sharon & Jay were dropped off at Cabela’s for an hour shopping… Read More 18 August… En route Charleston
Happy birthday to my special friend Dana in the UK!! It was a slow day (again)… Boss jetted off in the Buick for some meetings, Bossette spent some quality time with her sister, while the Malan-clan went trotting off to the Billy Graham Library and some shops (IKEA, Hobby Lobby, Best Buy, Bass Pro Shops,… Read More 17 August – Charlotte/Concord
Today we drove roughly 200 miles to Charlotte, North Carolina. The RV park is next door to a major raceway (ZMax Dragway) in the middle of NASCAR country! We are literally sleeping in the parking lot, so close are we. After a quick lunch and a nap we were off to Bossette’s… Read More 16 August – Charlotte
Probably our laziest day thus far! Woke up late, took a slow drive to Gatlinburg Information Centre, then hopped on a Trolley to town, walked slowly, ate pancakes, and came home. The kids were taken to a waterpark and go-karting by Boss, while the rest occupied themselves with stress-free activities. Tomorrow we pack up for… Read More 15 August – Gatlinburg
