Off to our last stop before heading down to Marco Island, we headed south out of Charleston just before 10. After having rain for most of the night the humidity was very present at an estimated 32C. On the way we stopped off at a roadside shop where we got some pie and cider.
Fortunately it was a short trip, about 2 hours, and we arrived at Hilton Head just after midday. The very fancy GPS got us lost (on purpose?) to give us a scenic trip through some lesser-travelled roads. The campsite is beautiful and we are parked on the edge of an alligator-filled pond!
So it started raining again and then Suzie’s crowd waded across to join Amy’s crowd for hot peach pie (freshly bought en route) and chats.
